Trees are motionless here. Not because there is no wind, but because they aren't real. Naturally, you're curious when someone shows you a wooden board for an ancient game. It's incredibly popular right now. Perhaps that's why you can't stop playing it.

A ~75min 2D point-and-click horror visual novel/board game simulator.

After doing 3D for a while I went back to a glitchy pixel 2D style. This is more of a low-concept game that focuses on story, whose idea was originally inspired by Junji Ito. I also experimented with a GameBoy colour scheme and an anamorphic aspect ratio.

!! Content warnings: This game contains strong language, depictions of gore/body horror, and heavy themes such as violence and death.

Artificial intelligence was not used to ideate, design, write, score, illustrate, program, or otherwise generate any aspect of this game.

Notice: I only upload my games to itch. If this game appears on another website, it was reuploaded, and I have no control over what those files contain.

Had me bound to the chair reading through this.

Not sure what the lock even unlocks so I don't feel like ging for a run without seedmaxxing.

Really nice job with this. Very nicely crafted and I very much enjoyed the story! :)

When a random person from my secondary school turns up at the door with a boardgame, I'm telling them to jog on. JOG. ON.

Another surreal, ethereal experience from whilegameisfalse, with some thought provoking and heavy themes at play - I usually do a short recap of my thoughts at the end of my videos, but I was left a little awe-struck as I was still processing all the events.

I gave in to my baser instincts and rifled through the junk to get more seeds, but upon reflection I should have kept the bracelet - guess I'll just have to play again and try and get that lock on the start screen open!

Thanks for playing! Do let the story sink in for a bit, I tried to give a lot to chew on. Left a comment as always.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! As for a secret, I wonder what that lock on the main menu means ...

guess i need to play again;)

is it related to winning/losing the game? (not quite a chess player, guess the board game has moderate difficulty for me lol
